Duties Assist lead painters with surface preparation including sanding, caulking, and cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion Help with the setup and breakdown of painting areas, including taping, covering furniture, and protecting surfaces Mix paints and coatings accurately using hand tools or paint sprayers according to project specifications Operate power tools such as drills, sanders, and airless paint sprayers safely and effectively Support in applying primer, paint, stain, or coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment on various surfaces Prepare construction painting surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and repairing drywall or stucco as needed Follow safety regulations diligently by wearing respiratory protection and adhering to all safety protocols during work activities Interpret technical drawings or instructions for color matching and project specifications Assist with fixture installation and minor handyman tasks during renovation or remodeling projects Maintain a clean work environment by disposing of waste properly and organizing tools and materials efficiently Skills Strong understanding of construction estimating principles related to painting projects Knowledge of color theory for accurate color matching and visual color comparison Experience with residential painting techniques including brush painting, roller painting, and spray application Ability to operate ladders safely for reaching high areas on buildings or structures Familiarity with structural painting requirements for both interior and exterior surfaces Proficiency with hand tools such as scrapers, putty knives, sanders, and caulking guns; experience with power tools is a plus Experience using paint sprayers—including conventional spraying and airless paint spraying—for efficient coverage Understanding of construction site safety regulations including proper use of respiratory protection equipment Ability to interpret technical drawings or specifications for precise application of coatings in industrial or commercial settings Basic math skills for measuring surfaces, mixing paints accurately, and calculating material quantities Experience in construction estimating to support project planning and material ordering is advantageous Knowledge of renovation processes including fixture installation, stucco application, maintenance tasks, and remodeling projects Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members and interpreting project instructions Join us in creating beautiful spaces while advancing your skills in the vibrant world of construction painting!
