Job Description

FUNCTION SUMMARY
Put the finishing touches on quality products. Protect, enhance, and prepare equipment for delivery. As a Painter at McLanahan, you'll play an important role in the final stage of the manufacturing process by preparing, painting, and finishing equipment to meet customer and quality specifications. From surface preparation to final coating, your work helps ensure products leave our facility looking professional, protected, and ready for service. WHAT YOU'LL DO
Prepare products for painting Mask, sand, clean, and stage equipment to ensure proper surface preparation and high-quality paint application. Apply industrial coatings Apply primer, paint, and touch-up coatings according to customer requirements, work instructions, and quality standards. Mix and verify paint materials Prepare paints and coatings according to specifications and ensure proper application techniques are followed. Inspect quality and coating thickness Use measuring tools to verify paint and primer thickness and ensure compliance with ISO and customer requirements. Support blasting operations Cross-train in blast operations to help clean and prepare surfaces prior to painting. Move and handle materials safely Load, unload, and transport materials using forklifts, hand jacks, carts, trailers, and other material-handling equipment. Maintain a safe and organized workspace Operate and maintain paint booth equipment, follow safety procedures, and support 5S standards to keep the work area clean and efficient.
WHAT YOU BRING
Experience and Qualifications High school diploma or
GED. 3-5
years of manufacturing experience preferred. 3-5 years of industrial painting experience preferred. Experience working with industrial coatings, paint systems, and related equipment. Skills That Help You Succeed Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Knowledge of industrial painting processes and surface preparation. Ability to follow work instructions and specifications. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Basic computer skills. Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment. Physical Requirements:
This role is based in a manufacturing environment and may involve standing, walking, lifting and carrying materials up to 50 pounds, operating painting equipment, and working with industrial coatings throughout the day.
