Paint Technician is responsible for the application of a wide range of industrial liquid coatings which may include one, three-coat procedures to manufactured products in accordance with the specification of the OEM and customer. Follow all site health and safety regulations and a strong work ethic and attention to detail are essential.
Essential Functions:
1. Performs pre-painting activities on parts in preparation for painting/fabrication. 2. Applies a variety of industrial coatings to metal products. 3. Utilizes instrumentation to measure painting parameters to ensure compliance with OEM specifications 4. Responsible for the application of industrial coatings in confined spaces. 5. Assist to appropriately rig objects for the purpose of moving them in the process of applying the industrial coatings. 6. Suggests tools and equipment to improve the operation of the unit. 7. Maintenance and clean-up of tools used in painting process. 8. Adheres to all OSHA and HazMat procedures with respect to storage, disposal, and handling of materials in the area. 9. Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.

Abilities:
1. High school diploma or equivalent 2. Must be 18 years of age 3. Knowledge of methods and techniques related to painting 4. Methods and techniques related to the safe use, storage and disposal of paint and cleaning products, chemicals, and safe cleanup techniques and practices. 5. Able to physically stand, bend squat, and lift minimum of 50 pounds 6. Excellent attendance 7. Able to maintain a dependable and flexible work schedule 8. Able to work independently or as an active member of a team 9. Excellent interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
This position operates in a manufacturing environment. At times, the employee will be exposed to manufacturing environment, including forklift traffic, fumes, noise, and operating manufacturing equipment.
Physical Demands:
1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to squat. Must be able to bend at the knees, and flexible enough to work in awkward positions. 2. Must be able to stand and work on your feet for extended periods of time. 3. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and talk or hear. 4. Must be able tolerate fluctuations in temperature and humidity. 5. Must be able to work with hands and have the manual dexterity to use misc. hand tools (i.e. hammer, screwdriver etc.). 6. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 7. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. May also require some weekend work.
Travel:
No travel is expected for this position.
