Other responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining the paint booth and equipment.

Job Duties:

Sets-up equipment to perform painting operation. Applies latex paint to components and assemblies using an airless sprayer. May also apply oil-based paints or epoxy when noted on the print and/or traveler. Wipes down each piece with cleaner prior to paint application. Provides properly prepped pieces for paint operation and ensures proper adhesion of the finish. Takes apart, cleans and re-assembles the paint equipment. Cleans and maintains respirator daily. Cleans and maintains the paint booth and replaces filters, as required. Properly disposes of paint dust, paint waste and any flammables. Moves material to and from the paint booth area. Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Reports defect tool and equipment to supervisor. Complies with all safety rules and regulations. Keeps barrels on containment skills and marked for proper disposal.

Minimum Education:

High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum Work Experience:

Two years' experience painting, preferably in an industrial environment One year experience using a forklift One year experience using an overhead crane

Minimum Skill Requirements:

Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints Must be able to clean paint systems and spray guns Must be able to mix special paints Proven ability to read travelers Must have basic computer skills

Physical Requirements:

The employee is continuously required to stand; frequently required to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms; and occasionally must bend, reach overhead, crouch, kneel, push/pull or life up to 50 pounds and talk and listen.
