If you're experienced with industrial painting, forklifts, and heavy steel fabrication, we want to hear from you! The Industrial Painter is responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing large steel components and fabricated equipment to meet quality and customer specifications. This position also assists with material handling and product movement throughout the facility. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a heavy manufacturing environment.
Industrial Painter Responsibilities:
Prepare steel structural components and fabricated equipment for painting by cleaning, grinding, sanding, and/or blasting surfaces to remove rust, mill scale, oil, dirt, and other debris
Properly mask and protect areas, fittings, mechanical components, and surfaces that should not receive paint
Mix and apply primers, industrial enamels, protective epoxies, and other industrial coatings according to specifications
Operate airless and conventional spray equipment to achieve proper coverage, finish, and coating thickness
Perform brush and spray touch-ups to correct missed areas, blemishes, or imperfections on large assemblies and fabricated equipment, including conveyor frames and aggregate plant components
Inspect painted surfaces for proper coverage, finish, and overall quality
Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to safely move finished products, steel components, materials, and supplies throughout the facility
Load, unload, position, and stage products and materials as needed while following proper forklift operating procedures
Clean, flush, and properly maintain paint guns, hoses, pressure pots, and other painting equipment after use
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Follow all company safety procedures, coating specifications, and applicable OSHA requirements
