For over 50 years, Meter Engineers has been a Family owned and operated manufacturer of meter proving equipment for the oil and gas industry. Due to our steady growth, we are looking for an experienced Sand Blasting Operator to join our work force. While you do not need to be a journeyman painter/sandblaster to apply, we do expect applicants to have some training with the heavy equipment, grinding tools, and power tools you will frequently use within this position. In addition to operating our "state of the art" blasting area, including loading and unloading, you may also be asked to help with painting or coating tasks after you have successfully removed the unwanted substances from surfaces.

Responsibilities:

• Follow verbal and written instruction from immediate supervisor
• Remove dirt, paint, grease, and other built-up material from surfaces
• Set up and operate a blast booth or similar equipment
• Load and unload the blast building utilizing forklifts and cranes
• Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean, orderly operational and safe condition
• Detect and report improper operations, faulty equipment, and defective materials
• Assist with painting or coating as needed

Requirements:

• Previous sandblasting experience and forklift operation
• Experience working with or removing heavy metals a plus
• Attention to detail including thorough inspection of work
• Physical stamina
• Familiarity with power tools Working conditions / Physical demands: Work in extreme weather conditions (including cold, heat, rain, and snow) Ability to frequently, climb to and work from elevated platforms, ladders, stairwells, walkways, etc.

Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend or crouch for extended periods of time Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds

Education:

High school diploma or GED (Required) The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.
