This energetic position involves preparing surfaces, operating coating equipment, and ensuring finished products meet strict quality standards. You will be instrumental in maintaining efficient production flow while adhering to safety protocols and environmental regulations. Responsibilities Prepare surfaces for coating by cleaning, sanding, and applying surface primers or treatments using hand tools and power tools. Operate powder coating equipment, including spray guns and airless paint sprayers, to apply even coats of powder material to designated parts. Use conventional spraying techniques and manual finishing methods to achieve smooth, consistent coatings aligned with project specifications. Interpret production documents such as work orders, blueprints, and process instructions to ensure accurate application of coatings. Handle materials safely using forklifts and other material handling equipment while adhering to all safety protocols and PPE requirements. Conduct visual color comparisons and quality inspections to verify coating uniformity, color accuracy, and surface finish standards. Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment, perform routine maintenance on tools, and document production activities accurately. Experience Prior experience in industrial painting, powder coating, or manufacturing environments is highly desirable. Mechanical knowledge related to machining, auto body repair, or construction painting surface preparation is a plus. Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, spray guns, respirators, and PPE is essential for safe operation. Basic math skills for measuring materials and calculating coverage areas are required. Knowledge of safety protocols including respiratory protection and PPE use is critical to ensure a safe working environment.
