Job Description

Job Description Creative Composites, Inc., an AS9100-registered designer and manufacturer of Advanced Composite structures, of Rapid River, Michigan has an opening for an Industrial Painter for 6am to 2 pm shift.
  • Candidates are desired to have experience in the following. Experience beneficial, but not required (will be trained):
  • Automotive finishing/painting.
  • Working with various hand tools such as scissors, palm sanders, adhesives, drills, rivet guns, fasteners and wrenches.
  • Process monitoring (temperature, humidity & cure).
  • Reading dimensioned and noted drawings.
Responsibilities will include:
  • Preparation and painting of components and assemblies produced at Creative Composites, Inc., using epoxy, polyurethane, and other paints/coatings. This will include correct and accurate measurement and mixing of multi-component coatings, correct application methods and techniques.
  • Process monitoring will be necessary - this includes temperature and humidity measurement and documentation, wet film and dry film thickness measurement and documentation (where required).
  • Knowledge of vehicle repair processes and manufacturer repair procedures
  • Interfacing with other departments in the company to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Ensure Preventive Maintenance tasks are performed.
  • Participate in Product Development Team functions to develop production plans.
  • Follow established Quality Control Procedures; including making sure documentation is correct.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-production environment
  • Able to lift up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 70 pounds occasionally
  • Able to bend, kneel, squat, crouch, and reach in tight or confined spaces This is a 1st shift full-time position (40 hours/week) plus overtime as needed, including paid breaks, 7 paid holidays and PTO, 4% company-matched retirement, company-provided AD&D insurance, health-insurance, vision and dental.
