Job Description

Position Summary The Industrial Painter is responsible for preparing, coating, and finishing steel tanks, pressure vessels, and fabricated components according to Arrow Tank's quality and safety standards. This position is a temporary assignment with the potential to transition into a full‑time hire based on performance, business needs, and coverage requirements. The initial assignment is expected to last six months and provides coverage during an employee leave period. The role requires a dependable individual with experience in industrial painting or heavy‑equipment coating environments. Key Responsibilities Surface Preparation — Clean, sand, grind, and prepare metal surfaces for coating. Industrial Coating Application — Apply primers, epoxies, urethanes, and other industrial coatings using spray equipment. Equipment Operation — Operate spray guns, pressure pots, and related painting tools safely and effectively. Quality Inspection — Inspect finished surfaces for coverage, thickness, defects, and adherence to specifications. Documentation — Complete required production and quality paperwork. Safety Compliance — Follow OSHA, company, and PPE requirements, including respirator use and confined‑space protocols. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Assist with other production tasks as needed. Required Qualifications Previous experience as an industrial painter, sandblaster, or coatings technician in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 2 years of industrial painting or heavy‑duty coating experience. Ability to safely operate spray equipment and follow coating specifications. Knowledge of epoxy, urethane, zinc‑rich primers, and other industrial coatings. Ability to read and follow work instructions and safety procedures. Strong attention to detail and quality. Reliable attendance and ability to work independently. Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly. Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods. Ability to work in warm, cold, or dusty environments depending on shop conditions. Must be able to wear a respirator and pass a company‑provided fit test. Work Environment Heavy industrial fabrication shop. Exposure to fumes, dust, noise, and chemicals (PPE provided). Work may include elevated platforms, ladders, or confined spaces.
