Piedmont Metals is seeking an experienced Industrial Painting Specialist to preform and manage proper painting application to finished product per customer needs. This position is responsible for the coordination and completion of safely preparing surfaces, applying various industrial coating systems, monitoring environmental conditions, maintaining equipment, and completing required quality documentation. The ideal candidate has strong industrial painting experience, understands coating specifications and surface preparation standards, takes pride in producing consistent, high-quality work and has experience leading a team of staff to complete work on time. Key Responsibilities Apply a variety of industrial coating products using spray, brush, and roller application methods. Read and understand coating product data sheets and Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Follow coating manufacturer requirements and company procedures for proper product preparation and application. Understand and apply

SSPC/NACE

standards related to surface preparation and industrial coatings. Monitor humidity, temperature, surface profile, and other environmental conditions that may affect coating quality. Perform required measurements and maintain accurate coating and quality documentation. Inspect surfaces and finished coatings for proper preparation, coverage, thickness, and overall quality. Operate overhead cranes and/or forklifts while following safe rigging and equipment operating practices. Safely direct and monitor helpers as needed to complete daily assignments. Maintain painting, blasting, PPE, and related equipment in safe and working condition. Complete daily work assignments while maintaining production schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements. Follow all company policies, OSHA requirements, and applicable safety procedures. Assist with ISO 9001 and other quality audits as needed. Complete required computer-based documentation, training, inspections, and quality reporting. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications Required:

High School Diploma or GED. 5+ years of related industrial painting, coatings, sandblasting, or surface preparation experience. Experience operating industrial painting and/or blasting equipment. Ability to read and understand coating product data sheets and SDS documentation. Knowledge of industrial coating application methods and surface preparation. Ability to understand and follow safety, quality, and production requirements. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills. Reliable attendance and ability to work scheduled hours.

Preferred:

3+ years of industrial coatings experience. Vocational or technical training in industrial painting, coatings, or a related field. NACE or SSPC industrial painting/coatings certification. Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts. Experience with structural steel or heavy manufacturing. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to frequently use hands and arms for painting, blasting, equipment operation, and material handling. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach as required. Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. Ability to work around fumes, airborne particles, dust, moving equipment, vibration, and industrial noise. Ability to work in varying temperatures and environmental conditions. Ability to wear required PPE, including respiratory protection when applicable. Ability to safely work around overhead cranes, forklifts, and other industrial equipment. $24.31 - $29.28 per hour
