Job Description
Prototype Paint Technician Marysville, OH Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare prototype surfaces (sanding, masking, cleaning, priming).
- Mix and match custom paint colors to engineering or design specifications.
- Apply basecoat, clearcoat, and specialty finishes using spray equipment.
- Work with experimental materials, coatings, and finishes for concepts.
- Inspect painted surfaces for defects (runs, orange peel, dust, etc.) and correct as needed.
- Collaborate with designers and engineers to achieve desired aesthetics and functionality.
- Maintain detailed records of paint formulas, processes, and test results.
- Operate and maintain paint booths, spray guns, and related equipment.
- Follow safety procedures for handling chemicals, solvents, and PPE.
- Perform rework, touch-ups, and refinishing on prototype components.
