Painter Job Description Summary:

MUST HAVE POWDER COAT EXPERIENCE!

The Painter is responsible for performing a full range of specialized coating projects by operating and maintaining paint spraying equipment within all aspects of the Paint Department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

POWDER

COAT EXPERIENCE IS A MUST

Follow all principles and practices of powder coating application. Operate all coating equipment including guns. Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects. Determine paint flow, viscosity and coating quality by performing visual inspections or by using viscometers. Bake parts at appropriate temperatures within time limitations. Knowledge of thermosetting resin coatings, wash and pretreatments. Ensure that all components are produced/coated efficiently and are consistent with company established goals for quality and customer order on-time performance. Load and unload parts Good knowledge of painting equipment Proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment Inspect painted surfaces for flaws that occurred in the initial painting process. Sand and prepare surfaces for repairing any imperfections. Identification, safe handling, and appropriate disposal of materials. Acquire knowledge of OSHA and EPA requirements. Properly disposing of paint. Computer data entry General Housekeeping. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED, previous sheet metal experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Willingness to learn. Must be able to read a tape measure and blueprints.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday 6:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., Fridays 6:30 a.m. to 10:15 p.m. Schedule may vary depending on work load.
