This individual will be responsible for surface preparation (including sandblasting), and application of industrial coatings on fabricated metal components, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate has experience in industrial painting and blasting techniques, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety. •
Key Responsibilities:
•Perform sandblasting to clean and prepare surfaces for painting or coating. Mix and apply industrial paints and coatings using spray guns, brushes, or rollers. Ensure proper surface preparation before painting (cleaning, degreasing, masking). Inspect surfaces after painting for uniform coverage, thickness, and quality. Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE at all times. Maintain painting and blasting equipment and report malfunctions. Monitor environmental conditions (humidity, temperature) and adjust process accordingly. Maintain clean work areas and proper storage of materials and equipment. Interpret blueprints, drawings, or work orders to determine job specifications. Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding job status and issues. Desired Qualifications (Not Required) : High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 2 years of industrial painting and/or sandblasting experience. Familiarity with airless and conventional spray systems. Knowledge of industrial coating systems and surface prep standards (e.g., SSPC/NACE). Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or specifications. Strong attention to detail and quality control. Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical labor in various conditions. Certifications in industrial painting (e.g., NACE, SSPC). Experience working in a fabrication or manufacturing environment. Forklift or overhead crane operation experience
Work Environment :
Exposure to dust, fumes, noise, and varying temperatures. Use of protective equipment including respirators, gloves, and coveralls. Requires standing, bending, lifting, and working in confined or elevated areas.
