The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with powder coating processes, surface preparation, and the use of coating equipment to apply durable finishes that meet industry standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Apply powder coating to structural steel elements, ensuring high-quality finishes. Prepare steel surfaces for coating using various methods (abrasive blasting, chemical cleaning, etc.). Operate and maintain powder coating equipment (spray guns, curing ovens, etc.). Monitor the curing process to ensure correct temperature and time settings. Inspect coated steel for quality control and ensure it meets aesthetic and functional standards. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with the coating process or equipment. Maintain accurate records of each project, including coating thickness and any quality inspections. Adhere to safety protocols and environmental regulations while handling materials.
Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in coating technologies is a plus. Proven experience in powder coating, specifically on structural steel. Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, including ASTM and SSPC guidelines. Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform quality control checks. Familiarity with powder coating equipment and surface preparation techniques. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
