Duties Prepare surfaces through construction painting surface preparation techniques, including cleaning, sanding, and surface masking to ensure optimal coating adhesion. Use hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment for surface finishing, assembly support, and material handling tasks. Interpret production documents such as work orders and technical specifications to accurately execute painting tasks according to project requirements. Adhere strictly to safety protocols by using personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators and respiratory protection gear, while handling hazardous materials or working in confined spaces. Manage materials efficiently using warehouse experience and forklift operation skills to transport paints, coatings, and other supplies safely within the facility. Conduct visual color comparisons and use precision measuring instruments to ensure coating quality aligns with established standards. Support lean manufacturing principles by maintaining cleanliness of work areas and minimizing waste during production finishing processes. Skills Proven experience with industrial painting techniques such as conventional spraying, powder coating, and auto painting processes. Strong mechanical knowledge related to materials handling, assembly, machining, and surface preparation methods. Ability to interpret complex production documents accurately while adhering to quality standards in production. Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of safety protocols including PPE use, respirator fitting, and construction painting surface preparation safety measures. Basic math skills for measuring materials and calculating coverage rates during coating applications. Experience working with warehouse equipment like forklifts or cranes for efficient materials handling.
