Job Summary/Overview This is a full-time position (Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM) Looking for individuals who are seeking long-term employment and growth opportunities with our company. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering top-quality painting services across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Your expertise in surface preparation, coating application, and finishing will ensure our projects meet the highest standards of craftsmanship and durability. The Experienced Painter performs all Entry Level Painter responsibilities while independently preparing, masking, mixing, spraying, and inspecting qualified composite parts and panels. This role supports production by maintaining coating thickness requirements, visual quality standards, documentation accuracy, safety compliance, and process repeatability while assisting in the development of newer Paint employees. Strong ability to document and comply with regulatory agency regulations and standards. Responsibilities Safely prepare, mask, paint, and inspect composite parts, panels, and thickness verification coupons in accordance with planning, work instructions, customer requirements, and PAC quality standards. Independently perform paint operations on qualified parts while maintaining required coating thickness ranges, visual appearance standards, cure requirements, and documentation accuracy. Retrieve, verify, mix, and blend coating materials, including two-part coating systems, while monitoring material expiration dates, pot life, shelf life, and traceability requirements. Read and follow travelers, Operation and Inspection Records, SPIs, SDS requirements, customer specifications, and paint process instructions. Maintain and verify spray equipment, filters, air lines, paint tools, mixers, measuring equipment, and related shop supplies to support safe and repeatable paint operations. Inspect own work and support review of work performed by others, identifying visual defects, coating concerns, masking issues, thickness concerns, or documentation discrepancies before final acceptance. Support Entry Level Painters through coaching, process guidance, safe work habits, and reinforcement of proper masking, mixing, spraying, cleanup, and inspection techniques. Communicate material issues, equipment concerns, schedule risks, quality concerns, or unclear instructions to the Production Supervisor, Quality, Engineering, or other support departments as needed. Maintain clean, organized, and audit-ready work areas while following all PPE, chemical handling, respiratory protection, housekeeping, and shop safety requirements. Support process improvement, waste reduction, rework prevention, and improved paint repeatability. Perform other duties as assigned. Skills Perform all Entry Level Painter responsibilities consistently. Ability to mask, prepare, mix, spray, and inspect qualified parts without direct supervision. Ability to maintain required coating thickness ranges and visual quality standards. Ability to properly use spray guns, mixers, measuring equipment, hand tools, and paint support equipment. Ability to understand and follow material expiration, pot life, shelf life, and traceability requirements. Ability to inspect work for paint defects, coverage concerns, masking concerns, thickness issues, and documentation errors. Ability to support and coach newer employees while maintaining personal production responsibilities. Ability to communicate clearly with Production, Quality, Engineering, Material Control, Paint Prep, Trim, and other support departments. Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Minimum Educational Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Basic math skills required. Blueprint reading, traveler interpretation, and work instruction experience desirable. Ability to read and follow SDS, chemical handling instructions, and coating process requirements required. U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident required. Successful completion of Entry Level Painter requirements or equivalent demonstrated experience required. Ability to maintain consistent attendance and punctuality required. Prior manufacturing, aerospace, automotive painting, composite finishing, body shop, industrial coating, or related hands-on finishing experience preferred. Must demonstrate ability to work safely with paints, solvents, coatings, masking materials, and chemical handling requirements. Must demonstrate ability to independently perform qualified paint tasks with general supervision.
