PM Pay Range:
$35-$55/hour, based on experience and qualifications Superior Skilled Trades is currently seeking an experienced Automation/Controls Technician/Installer to support Building Automation System (BAS) installations. This position is responsible for installing, wiring, terminating, commissioning, troubleshooting, and servicing BAS control systems, including control components, low-voltage wiring, conduit, end devices, system start-up, and owner training support. Required Certifications & Licenses CTE2 or S2 State License required Valid driver's license required Appropriate occupational license(s) as required by state/local regulations Must maintain current trade licenses and certifications Required Education & Experience High school diploma required; certificate from a college, technical school, or vocational program preferred 2-5 years of related experience and/or training in BAS controls, automation, HVAC controls, electrical installation, or a related field Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered Required Skills & Qualifications Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS), controls installation, low-voltage wiring, and HVAC automation Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, schematics, and specifications Knowledge of conduit installation, wiring methods, and applicable electrical codes Ability to troubleshoot control systems and electrical components Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong communication skills with supervisors, crew members, customers, and other trades Ability to work overtime, varied shifts, and occasional travel as needed Commitment to safety procedures and professional jobsite practices Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities Install and support BAS control systems, including mounting control components, conduit installation, low-voltage wiring, terminations, system checkout, and troubleshooting Plan installations to minimize material waste, provide access for future maintenance, and comply with project specifications and local electrical codes Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit Pull, route, label, and terminate wiring through conduit Install concealed wiring prior to completion of walls, ceilings, flooring, and finished areas Locate, mount, and terminate BAS field devices, including temperature sensors, relays, electronic actuators, and related controls Assist with commissioning, start-up procedures, system testing, and owner training when required Prepare sketches and documentation showing as-built locations of wiring and equipment Attend project meetings as needed Coordinate work with other trades on job sites Maintain required licenses and certifications Follow all NEMSI safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements Attend required safety training provided and/or sponsored by NEMSI Maintain a professional appearance and interact with clients in a courteous manner Perform other duties as assigned Physical Requirements The employee must be able to: Walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required Use hands and fingers to handle tools, equipment, wiring, and components Reach with hands and arms and perform overhead work Climb and safely work from ladders and stairways Communicate effectively through speaking and hearing Perform close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception vision tasks Work safely in a variety of construction and mechanical environments We are an equal opportunity employer.
