We're looking for a detail-oriented and innovative engineer with strong problem-solving skills, a passion for industrial automation, and experience in delivering integrated control systems in fast-paced production environments. Location Palmetto, FL. Job Type Full Time Job Duties Hands-on programming, system integration, and on-site commissioning at production facilities handling products such as dairy, juices, syrups, and soft drinks. Collaborate with clients and interdisciplinary teams to deliver systems that meet both technical requirements and food industry regulations (e.g.
FDA, USDA, FSMA
). Design, program, and commission PLC-based control systems (primarily Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation) for sanitary liquid handling applications Develop and troubleshoot
HMI/SCADA
systems using Ignition, FactoryTalk View SE/ME, and Wonderware Develop and maintain control system programming using ladder logic, function block, and structured text, with a focus on implementing step sequencing, PID control, and interlocks for hygienic processing applications such as CIP, pasteurization, UHT/HTST, blending, and batching." Configure industrial networks and control architectures: EtherNet/IP, I/O Link, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Asi Specify and deploy control panels and instrumentation in sanitary environments (e.g., flow meters, conductivity sensors, temperature/pressure transmitters) Implement data collection and server setups, including SQL databases, Historians, and MES integration Create project documentation: functional specifications, SOPs, training manuals, network schematics, and IO lists Lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) testing with a focus on validation and regulatory compliance Provide on-site startup support, troubleshooting, and operator training in live production facilities. Preferred Experience Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering preferred Minimum 3 years of experience in controls engineering in the liquid food and beverage industry. Practical experience with Clean-in-Place (CIP), Sterilize-in-Place (SIP), pasteurization, batching, blending, and automation systems driven by recipes. Experience working in a regulated environment (FDA, USDA, FSMA). Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Up to 10% travel to construction sites or field locations. May require lifting and carrying items up to 25 pounds. Must be able to wear appropriate PPE when visiting job sites. Standard business hours with occasional flexibility required for payroll or safety incident response.
