In this role, you'll tackle complex technical challenges, applying your expert troubleshooting skills to deliver high-performance solutions that exceed customer expectations. Key Responsibilities Software Development:
Prepare PLC, Servo, and HMI software using existing software libraries, executing modifications as needed to meet project specs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner closely with mechanical and electrical engineering teams to align on software modifications, project execution, and hardware integration.
Commissioning & Start-Up:
Assist the installation team during the start-up, testing, and commissioning of new packaging automation equipment.
On-Site & Field Support:
Travel to customer sites (roughly 10-20%) to support machinery servicing, retrofits, and equipment commissioning.
Technical Analysis:
Interpret technical specifications, schematics, and application parameters to ensure precise system execution.
Ongoing Optimization:
Perform software modifications on existing machinery and collaborate across departments as needed to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Requirements Technical Skills & Experience PLC Programming:
Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and Ladder Logic is required.
HMI & Servos:
Strong skill set in HMI development, Servo control, and overall control systems troubleshooting.
Automation Knowledge:
General understanding of high-speed assembly machinery and general industrial automation technology.
Schematics & CAD:
Experience with AutoCAD and blueprint reading is preferred.
Education & Attributes Education:
Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree with an emphasis in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Industrial Automation, or Programming preferred.
Engineering Principles:
Demonstrated understanding of core engineering theories, mechanical/electrical systems, and analytical problem-solving.
Soft Skills:
High attention to detail, strong organizational and prioritization skills, and a customer-focused team mindset.
