About the Role As an Electrical Controls Technician, you will play a pivotal role in the lifecycle of complex industrial systems, from initial panel fabrication to final field commissioning. You will leverage your expertise in PLC integration and VFD configuration to ensure that high-performance machinery operates safely and efficiently for our end users. Responsibilities Construct and wire industrial control panels by interpreting complex engineering schematics and technical diagrams. Install and calibrate critical electrical components, including PLCs, VFDs, and motor control centers, to meet rigorous performance standards. Execute comprehensive functional testing, continuity checks, and insulation resistance analysis to guarantee system reliability. Troubleshoot intricate wiring faults and design discrepancies to minimize downtime and optimize machine throughput. Collaborate with engineering teams to refine designs, improve manufacturability, and provide red-line updates for technical documentation. Commission new equipment in the field, ensuring seamless integration and providing technical support to clients. Mentor junior staff on best practices for wiring, safety compliance, and quality control. Required Skills Proven experience with 120/208/240/480V electrical systems and industrial control cabinet wiring. Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and BOMs. Hands-on experience with Allen Bradley, ABB, or Schneider Electric control hardware. Deep understanding of UL 508A, NEC, and OSHA safety standards. Ability to utilize precision hand and power tools for electrical and mechanical assembly. Preferred Skills Experience with PLC programming or troubleshooting (Allen Bradley, Omron, or Modicon). Background in field service or on-site machine commissioning. Familiarity with pneumatic systems and mechanical hardware integration. Strong analytical skills for continuous improvement and process optimization.
