Job Summary:
Seeking a hands-on Controls Maintenance Technician to support troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance activities within a manufacturing environment. This role will focus heavily on electrical controls, PLCs, VFDs, and production equipment reliability while supporting safe and efficient plant operations. Candidates with strong industrial electrical troubleshooting skills and minor PLC/VFD programming experience are encouraged to apply.
Job Duties:
Troubleshoot and repair production and packaging equipmentDiagnose and repair electrical systems including motors, relays, starters, timers, breakers, and control panelsPerform minor PLC and VFD programming and troubleshootingSupport setup, repair, and maintenance of conveyors, baggers, check-weighers, barcode systems, and related equipmentRead and interpret electrical control schematics for troubleshooting purposesPerform preventative maintenance, equipment lubrication, and rebuild activitiesFabricate parts and modify equipment as neededRespond quickly to equipment breakdowns and minimize downtimeEnsure equipment readiness prior to production startupMaintain compliance with safety programs including lockout/tagout proceduresAssist with coaching and training maintenance and operations personnel
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required4-5+ years of industrial maintenance experience preferred, though strong recent technical school graduates with hands-on experience will also be consideredFood manufacturing experience is preferred but not requiredAbility to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentExperience using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safelyBilingual English/Spanish is a plusValid Illinois driver's license preferredAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and work in refrigerated or elevated environments as needed Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or genetic information.
