Plant Reliability Technician — Industrial Equipment & Controls

Job Description

Keep production reliable. Elevate equipment performance. Our Hammond, Indiana manufacturing team is looking for a Plant Reliability Technician who takes pride in maximizing uptime and safety. In this third‑shift role, you'll blend mechanical aptitude with electrical/controls know‑how to ensure assets perform every night. Training begins on first shift, and we provide the tools and a stable path for long-term growth. Your mission Increase equipment reliability through rapid troubleshooting and robust PM/PdM Resolve mechanical issues across conveyors, mixers, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulics, and pneumatics Tackle electrical challenges up to 480V, including motors, starters, relays, contactors, and VFDs Diagnose Allen‑Bradley PLC faults and support corrective actions Use multimeters and test equipment to validate hypotheses and repairs Execute Lockout/Tagout flawlessly and champion plant safety Document work with accuracy and support continuous improvement initiatives Partner with production while operating independently overnight Qualifications Required 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience Demonstrated mechanical troubleshooting and repair strength Experience with 120/208/240/480 VAC systems Allen‑Bradley PLC troubleshooting experience Exposure to conveyors, mixers, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics Ability to interpret technical documentation and schematics Competence with hand/shop tools and electrical test instruments LOTO proficiency Ability to work independently on an off‑shift (third shift) Preferred Welding and fabrication Forklift experience Scissor lift experience Experience in GMP-regulated manufacturing Safety-first workplace Work occurs in an industrial manufacturing environment where PPE is required, including: Respirator Steel-toed boots Hearing protection Additional PPE as needed You may work around lead-containing materials; adherence to safety and environmental protocols is essential.
