A growing industrial automation and material handling manufacturer is seeking a Lead Electrical Controls Technician to join its team. This is a hands-on role responsible for building, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting custom industrial control systems for heavy equipment. The ideal candidate has strong experience reading electrical schematics, building control panels, and leading projects from start to finish. Responsibilities Build and wire custom electrical control panels using engineering drawings and electrical schematics. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and Bills of Material. Install and integrate electrical components into control cabinets using standardized layouts. Wire AC and DC control circuits, including 24VDC through 480VAC three-phase systems. Perform point-to-point wiring verification, testing, troubleshooting, and final quality inspections. Install conduit and route wiring for industrial electrical control systems. Ensure all work meets applicable electrical codes and quality standards. Coordinate project timelines and provide guidance and support to less experienced technicians. Qualifications Experience building industrial control panels or electrical control systems. Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Working knowledge of industrial electrical standards, including NEC and UL 508A. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Preferred Experience Experience with industrial machinery, material handling equipment, or automated systems. Previous cabinet or panel-building experience. Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment is a plus. Leadership or mentoring experience is preferred. What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience.
