Job Overview Shroyer Electric, Inc. (SEI) is an industrial electrical contractor, UL508A control panel manufacturer, and automation systems integrator serving customers throughout the United States. As a recognized Rockwell Automation systems integrator, we design, build, install, and support industrial automation systems for manufacturing facilities, wastewater treatment plants, industrial HVAC systems, mining operations, OEM equipment manufacturers, and food and beverage facilities. We are seeking a motivated Controls / Electrical Technician to join our growing team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in both our UL508A control panel shop and in the field supporting automation installations, startups, and troubleshooting activities. This position will split time between the control panel shop and customer job sites, assisting engineers and project managers in delivering high-quality automation solutions. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in craftsmanship, and is motivated to learn industrial automation technologies. Responsibilities Build and wire UL508A industrial control panels Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts Install electrical and automation equipment in industrial facilities Perform panel checkout and factory acceptance testing Troubleshoot electrical control systems, PLC I/O, instrumentation, and motor controls Assist with startup and commissioning of industrial automation systems Install and terminate field devices, sensors, motors, and instrumentation Configure and troubleshoot VFDs and communication networks Support service calls and maintenance activities Maintain accurate documentation and quality records Follow all safety and quality procedures Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required Technical degree, trade school, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience preferred 1-5 years of industrial electrical, automation, maintenance, or control panel experience preferred Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to safely use electrical testing equipment and hand tools Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to travel approximately 25% for installation and startup activities Preferred Experience UL508A Control Panel Assembly Allen-Bradley PLC Systems Motor Control Centers (MCCs) Industrial Instrumentation VFD Installation and Configuration Industrial Ethernet Networks Conduit Installation FactoryTalk Software Studio 5000 Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to stand, bend, climb ladders, and work in industrial environments Ability to work in both shop and field settings Join a growing team where you can build your technical skills, work on exciting industrial automation projects, and develop a long-term career in the electrical and controls industry.
Pay:
$26.00 - $33.00 per hour
