• $20 an hour 15 hours ago Qualifications In-person customer service Room tidying Classroom experience Clean workspace maintenance Teaching Camp experience Full Job Description About the role Earth Arts Pottery Studio is Long Island's largest pottery studio, and we're hiring multiple Pottery Class Assistants as we grow.

Today we run two studios (Long Beach and Garden City). Rockville Centre is next, and in 2027 we're opening a retreat destination in Bovina, New York. We're building a bench across our class lineup and across that studio mix. Pottery Class Assistants work alongside our instructors in wheel classes and private events, and they help run the studio. Instructors lead the class. You make the room work, and you do real studio operations: kiln, pug mill, clay reclaim, and related prep as trained. This is not a teaching role, and it is not instructor-level throwing. It is a strong path for potters who want more studio time, paid experience in a working studio, and a chance to grow. For the right people, that growth can include learning to teach with us later. Responsibilities

• Set up the classroom before guests arrive
• Support guests during class (recenter, help pieces off the wheel, materials, calm troubleshooting as directed)
• Support the instructor so they can teach
• Clean up and reset the room after class
• Do studio operations as part of the job (kiln, pug mill, clay reclaim, and related work as trained)
• Work the same role whether the shift is class support or studio ops Minimum qualifications
• At least 16 years old
• At least six months of pottery experience, preferably on the wheel (instructor-level skill is not required)
• Willingness and ability to learn studio operations (this is part of the job, not optional)
• Warm and steady with guests in a full room (up to 12 guests plus instructor)
• Comfortable taking direction and working as part of a team
• Reliable availability across evenings, weekends, and weekday days Preferred qualifications
• Prior hospitality, retail, camp, classroom, or studio experience
• Experience helping other potters on the wheel
• Prior kiln, pug mill, or clay reclaim exposure
• Interest in growing toward teaching with us over time
• Interest in working across more than one studio as we grow Compensation and benefits
