Our mission is to inspire children through hands-on STEM learning in a fun, safe, and engaging environment. We are seeking a versatile STEM Instructor / Operations Associate who enjoys working with children, is comfortable with technology, and thrives in a fast-paced learning environment. Position Summary The STEM Instructor / Operations Associate plays a hybrid role, supporting both classroom instruction and daily operational needs. This team member leads and assists STEM classes, helps run parties and events, supports parent communication, and ensures the Race Hub facility is organized, clean, and prepared for each session. This is an excellent role for college students, aspiring teachers, early-career STEM professionals, or enthusiastic individuals with experience working with kids. Key ResponsibilitiesSTEM Instruction (Primary Focus) Teach or assist robotics, coding, engineering, and hands-on STEM activities for grades K-8 Lead small-group instruction and guide students through lessons and challenges Support behavior management with positive, encouraging techniques Prepare materials, lesson kits, and technology (iPads, LEGO robotics, coding platforms) Track student participation and provide updates to parents as needed Operations & Facility Support Help prepare classrooms before sessions (set up laptops, robotics kits, activities) Maintain inventory of materials and ensure supplies are stocked and organized Keep the facility clean, safe, and presentable throughout the day Assist with updating attendance lists, rosters, or class materials Customer Service & Communication Greet families and support smooth drop-off and pick-up Provide basic parent updates, answer questions, and communicate with the team Capture occasional photos/videos for social media content (training provided) QualificationsRequired Experience working with children (camp counselor, tutor, instructor, etc.) Strong communication and team collaboration skills Comfort with technology, robotics kits, or willingness to learn Ability to multitask in a lively, fast-moving environment Professional, reliable, and consistent attendance Preferred Background in STEM, computer science, education, engineering, or related fields Experience with LEGO Robotics (WeDo, Spike, EV3), Scratch, Python, or similar platforms Experience in customer service or event hosting Ideal Candidate Energetic, responsible, and enjoys being around kids Creative problem solver with a positive attitude Comfortable stepping into both teaching and operations tasks Thrives in a high-energy, team-oriented environment Excited about mentoring the next generation of engineers and innovators Typical Schedule Weekdays 2:00-7:00 p.m. (after-school program hours) Weekends for parties/events (rotational) Additional opportunities during holidays, school breaks, and summer camps
