Electrical Assembly Technician - Job DescriptionPosition Summary The Electrical Assembly Technician supports engineering and production by assembling, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting electrical and electronic components used in high‑voltage, ESD, TLP, and EMC test equipment. This role requires strong hands‑on skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced technical environment. Key Responsibilities Electrical & Electronic Assembly Assemble wiring harnesses, circuit boards, enclosures, and electrical sub‑assemblies Perform soldering, crimping, and connector termination Follow engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions Testing & Measurement Operate oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and other diagnostic tools Support high‑voltage, ESD, and pulse‑based testing as directed Document test results and maintain accurate records Troubleshooting & Repair Diagnose issues with electrical assemblies and test equipment Perform component‑level repairs when needed Work with engineers to resolve technical problems Workflow & Documentation Maintain organized work areas and follow all safety procedures Update build logs, test records, and equipment maintenance notes Assist in improving SOPs and production processes Equipment & Safety Safely handle high‑voltage systems and follow lockout/tagout procedures Maintain calibration and cleanliness of lab equipment Report equipment issues promptly Required Skills & Qualifications Hands‑on electrical or electronics assembly experience Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs Proficiency with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and basic test equipment Strong soldering and wiring skills Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently Good communication and documentation habits Preferred Qualifications 2-5 years of electrical or electronics assembly experience Experience with high‑voltage systems or
ESD/TLP/EMC
testing IPC‑A‑610 or
IPC/WHMA
‑A‑620 certification Familiarity with RF, pulse systems, or lab instrumentation Experience in a manufacturing or engineering support environment Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to lift up to 40 lbs Ability to stand or sit for extended periods Work performed in a technical lab environment with high‑voltage equipment Summary This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on electrical assembly, problem‑solving, and supporting engineering teams in a specialized high‑voltage testing environment.
