The Electrical Cabinet Manufacturer is responsible for assembling, wiring, testing, and inspecting industrial electrical control cabinets in accordance with engineering drawings, wiring schematics, customer specifications, and company quality standards. This mid-level position requires the ability to work independently on assigned projects while maintaining a high level of accuracy, safety, and craftsmanship throughout the manufacturing process.
Essential Responsibilities:
Assemble and manufacture electrical control cabinets, panels, and enclosures according to engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, bills of materials (BOMs), and assembly instructions.
Install and mount electrical components including PLCs, relays, terminal blocks, circuit breakers, power supplies, VFDs, and other control devices.
Perform point-to-point wiring and cable routing while maintaining proper wire management and labeling standards.
Ensure all assemblies meet specifications, company quality standards, and applicable electrical codes.
Conduct functional testing, continuity testing, and quality inspections before shipment.
Troubleshoot wiring, assembly, and electrical issues, making necessary corrections as required.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Operate hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and electrical testing equipment safely and effectively.
Verify materials, parts, and components against work orders and BOMs prior to assembly.
Accurately document production activities, inspections, and completed work.
Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues and improve processes.
Meet daily production schedules while maintaining high standards of workmanship and attention to detail.
Assist with inventory management by reporting material shortages or damaged components.
Package and prepare completed electrical cabinets for shipping according to company standards.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and workplace safety.
Perform duties as deemed necessary by Management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have general mechanical skills.
Must be familiar with the concept of continuous quality improvement.
Ability to speak in a clear, understandable manner and write legibly.
Must be able to distinguish between different colors on electrical schematics drawings.
Must be able to work flexible hours to meet customer needs and management expectations.
Ability to work with little or no supervision, given proper instructions.
Must be able to wear protective equipment as needed.
Must be able to use trade type tools or hand tools.
Must maintain a clean MVR and TDL.
Ability to read and comprehend Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
Ability to read and comprehend electrical schematics.
Ability to work in windows-based computer systems.
Required Qualifications:

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings. Knowledge of industrial control panels and electrical components. Experience using hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic understanding of NEC, UL 508A, or other applicable electrical standards (preferred). Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
