Role Overview:

\nIn a nutshell, the operator will disassemble and clean incoming product.\nMechanical Assembler I is an entry level position. The purpose for an operator at this level is to gain a basic understanding of deburring and air grinding operations. Operators must obtain a basic level knowledge in order to deburr and clean parts in a manner necessary to produce precision parts with direct supervision by a more senior Mechanical Assembler with Deburring Certification (level II or above). Follows established standard work under general supervision in efforts to obtain certification within 120 days. The operator will typically refer problems or deviations to more experiences operators including Lead Technicians, Supervisors, or engineers.\n

Essential Responsibilities:

\nIn this role you will:\nLearn how to maintain and operate deburring tools.\nLearn how to read blueprints in order to verify work was completed properly.\nAccurately complete production documentation and performs necessary labor transactions.\nSupport and follow all rules/guidelines/standards set by EHS, Quality, and CI functions as set by your leader and position.\nActively participates in the Continuous Improvement process as well as safety related activities\nWorks under immediate supervision. Normally receives detailed instructions on all work.\nDevelops basic job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks.\nTasks are routine/ repetitive in nature, requiring limited judgment. Has little or no role in decision-making.\nOperates hand tools, electrical tools, hand cutters, measuring equipment and light equipment.\nOver 40 hours is required as scheduled to meet business needs.\nAll other duties as assigned including working extended shifts/overtime as required by the business.\nWillingness to work nonstandard hours\nSome Holiday hours may be required based on business need\nWorking extended shifts/overtime as required by the business\n

\nAbility to learn how to read and understand prints\nBasic computer proficiency (e-mail, print documents, internet) and ability to learn how to operate a computer to access prints and/or specified work instructions.\nBasic shop math including knowledge of Geometric Tolerances\nBasic proficiency with identifying, analyzing and resolving problems\nAbility to learn the various inspection tools needed for the job\nAbility to learn the tools (ball burr, flame bit etc.) needed for each job\nAbility to learn and understand deburring operations\nAbility to learn basics of the position within first 3 months of employment\nAbility to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and management\n
