This position involves preparing and manipulating digital files, setting up jobs, operating the laser equipment, inspecting finished products, and ensuring work is completed accurately and efficiently according to customer and production specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with computers, and able to follow detailed instructions while maintaining consistent quality. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate fiber marking laser equipment to produce markings, engravings, logos, text, serial numbers, and other designs on a variety of products. Set up and prepare the laser for production, including selecting appropriate settings and positioning products accurately. Load and unload parts and materials into the laser marking equipment. Prepare, modify, and manipulate digital files for laser production using applicable software. Make basic adjustments to artwork, text, sizing, positioning, and layouts to meet production requirements. Import and export files in appropriate formats and organize production files as needed. Adjust laser parameters such as power, speed, frequency, and focus based on the material and job requirements. Perform test marks and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper appearance and placement before beginning production. Inspect finished products for accuracy, consistency, proper placement, and overall quality. Identify and correct production issues, including marking inconsistencies, alignment problems, incorrect settings, or file errors. Follow job tickets, work instructions, drawings, and customer specifications. Maintain accurate production records and communicate job status or issues to supervisors and other departments. Perform routine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance of the laser equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment. Assist with other production duties as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Basic computer skills and the ability to learn production software. Ability to work with and manipulate digital files. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify small differences in markings, positioning, and product appearance. Ability to read and follow written instructions, work orders, and production specifications. Good hand-eye coordination and ability to work with small parts. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn equipment operation and troubleshooting. Ability to work independently while maintaining production schedules and quality standards. Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications Experience with fiber laser marking equipment. Experience with laser marking or engraving software. Experience with CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator, or similar graphic/design software. Previous manufacturing or production experience. Experience working with metal, plastic, or other materials commonly used in laser marking. Experience reading technical drawings or product specifications.
Pay:
$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
