Job Description

Join a well-established manufacturing company in Blue Earth, MN, with a proud history since 1963. Specializing in the production of steel and aluminum truck bodies and hoists for industries such as agriculture, construction, and landscaping, the company offers a stable and supportive work environment. As a Paint and Coatings Applicator, you will play a key role in preparing and finishing metal surfaces to the highest quality standards. This full-time position provides the opportunity to work in a modern manufacturing plant, contributing to products that serve a wide range of industry needs.
Compensation:
20.00 to 25.00 depending on skillset. Responsibilities Prepare metal surfaces for painting and coating, including cleaning, degreasing, and removing contaminants Mix and apply primers, paints, and coatings using spray equipment, ensuring proper flow and thickness Maintain and clean spray equipment and tools Inspect finished surfaces for quality, identifying and correcting issues such as rust, runs, blistering, or streaks Follow safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and understanding of material safety data sheets (MSDS) Handle, store, and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with regulations Operate forklifts as needed (if applicable) Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure timely completion of projects Qualifications Experience in preparing metal surfaces and applying paint or coatings Knowledge of spray equipment operation and maintenance Understanding of coating products and quality control standards Ability to perform physical work, including lifting and stretching Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including respirators (must pass a physical exam for PPE use) Familiarity with hazardous material handling, storage, and disposal Experience with abrasives, solvents, and cleaning products for metal surfaces Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to adapt to changing priorities Strong commitment to quality and safety Experience in a manufacturing environment is helpful but not required Forklift operation experience is a plus Benefits Health and dental insurance Vision plan Paid holidays Vacation or paid time off (PTO) Offered compensation: $20/hr - $25/hr Experience and License Requirements experience of preparing metal surfaces and painting/coating applications on metal Experience working within a manufacturing environment Pass a Pre-employment Drug Screening Supervisory experience (optional)
