Immediate opening for a QC Technician (Food Manufacturing) in Santa Fe Springs, CA who possesses: Food Science Degree (new graduate okay) Working or project experience working with sauces, dressing or something similar Prior experience working in food manufacturing, R D or quality control preferred. FULL DESCRIPTION
The selected candidate will be responsible for: Support warehouse operations by overseeing the receipt of raw materials and sub materials. Inspect shipment conditions and integrity to verify that all items received meet order requirements and quality standards. Verify Certificate of Analysis (COA) alignment with established product specifications. Monitor compliance with GMP, HACCP, allergen management, and sanitation programs to uphold quality control for both raw materials and finished goods. Perform environmental swabbing and production line inspections to prevent cross-contamination Communicate directly with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and implement effective corrective actions. Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure the accuracy and reliability of finished product testing. Analyze physical values against specification sheets and implement necessary adjustments to maintain strict quality standards. Conduct production line checks and quality inspections to ensure continuous process control. Manage retain samples and conduct shelf-life testing to track product stability over time. Investigate non-conformances, generate detailed hold/release reports, and manage physical product tagging and tracking. Foster clear communication between Quality Assurance and other departments to facilitate seamless operations. Contribute to special projects and perform additional duties as required to support team goals. The selected candidate will also possess: Bachelor's degree in food science or a related scientific field (e.g., Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry) preferred, 0- 2 years' experience in food industry Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills. Robust analytical skills with working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP, SQF, and allergen management protocols. Ability to read, write, and maintain accurate records. Proficiency in computer skills, including literacy with Microsoft Excel and Word. Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and the proper handling of hazardous materials. This position requires successfully passing a post-offer background and drug test.
