Overview Join our horticultural team as a Nursery Manager and Horticulture Technician, where you will lead the cultivation and management of diverse native plant species in both outdoor and greenhouse environments. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee nursery operations, implement sustainable growing practices, create vibrant gardens, and manage a dedicated team of individuals. Your expertise will help ensure healthy plant production, efficient irrigation, and organic pest control, all while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. Responsibilities Oversee daily nursery operations, including plant propagation, production, and greenhouse upkeep. Provide direction with planting, pruning, watering, fertilizing, and transplanting a wide range of nursery stock and landscape plants Develop and implement standard procedures for all nursery activities to ensure consistency and efficiency. Lead and manage horticultural teams, providing training on plant care, pruning, garden trimming, and landscaping techniques. Monitor plant health using organic methodologies, integrated pest management (IPM), and disease prevention strategies. Maintain accurate records of irrigation management, organic pest treatments, and equipment maintenance. Conduct outdoor work including lawn care, landscaping projects, gardening tasks, and heavy lifting as needed to support nursery operations. Skills Experience and/or knowledge with irrigation systems and general maintenance. Strong knowledge of horticulture principles, greenhouse cultivation techniques, and outdoor gardening practices. Ability to manage different grow teams effectively while maintaining high safety standards. Practical experience with plant identification, pest management, and sustainable farming practices. Operate hand tools to assist in tasks such as digging and soil preparation. Basic math skills for measuring inputs like fertilizer or water volumes; physical ability for heavy lifting; outdoor work experience in diverse weather conditions. Excellent attention to detail combined with a proactive approach to plant care and organization.
