Agricultural Drone Technician

Job Description

Overview Frontier Precision is seeking an Agricultural Drone Technician to support the service, repair, and ongoing operation of agricultural spray drones. This position is responsible for diagnosing technical issues, completing repairs and preventative maintenance, assisting customers with equipment-related questions, and providing field service when needed. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable working with electronic and software-based systems, and able to communicate technical information clearly to customers. This role works in both a shop and field environment and requires travel to customer locations throughout the assigned service area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Diagnose mechanical, electrical, software, communication, and operational issues involving agricultural spray drones and related equipment. Perform repairs, component replacement, calibration, firmware updates, testing, and preventative maintenance. Inspect aircraft, spray systems, pumps, motors, batteries, wiring, sensors, controllers, and other related components. Conduct post-repair testing to verify that equipment is operating safely and according to manufacturer specifications. Configure, and prepare new agricultural drone systems for customer delivery or deployment. Maintain accurate service records, repair notes, equipment histories, and warranty documentation. Follow manufacturer procedures, technical manuals, service bulletins, and company safety standards. Keep service tools, diagnostic equipment, work areas, and company vehicles organized and properly maintained. Serve as a technical resource for customers experiencing equipment, software, or operational issues. Troubleshoot customer concerns by phone, electronically, in the shop, or at the customer's location. Assist customers with basic equipment setup, calibration, software updates, and system configuration. Perform service work in outdoor and agricultural environments, including during seasonal periods of increased customer demand. Work Environment This role is a mix of in-person repair work at our Rock Rapids location along with some field service work when needed for customers.
Pay:
$65,000.00 per year
