This is a proactive sales role for someone who enjoys getting into the market, meeting buyers, developing opportunities, following up consistently, and asking for the business. You will sell plant material and seasonal programs to customers such as grocery stores, hardware stores, garden centers, landscapers, and other professional or retail buyers. What You'll Do

Actively identify and pursue new wholesale customers through in-person visits, phone and email outreach, referrals, trade shows, industry connections, and other prospecting methods.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing wholesale customers and learn their buying patterns, seasonal needs, price sensitivities, and merchandising opportunities.
Present White House Nursery's plant material, seasonal availability, capabilities, and sales programs in a professional and compelling way.
Create seasonal plant packages, assortments, promotions, and easy-to-buy programs tailored to different customer types.
Proactively contact customers with availability, new items, seasonal opportunities, and ideas that can increase order frequency, order size, and product mix.
Maintain an active sales pipeline, follow up consistently on opportunities and quotes, and move prospects toward an order or clear next step.
Represent White House Nursery at trade shows, buying events, and industry meetings; capture leads and complete timely post-event follow-up.
Develop strong working knowledge of our plants, seasonal availability, care requirements, and appropriate uses so you can translate horticultural knowledge into customer value. What We're Looking For
Demonstrated sales ability, customer-facing experience, or a strong aptitude and desire to build a career in B2B sales.
Comfort initiating conversations, approaching new businesses, making sales calls, visiting prospective customers, following up, and asking for the sale.
Strong communication, relationship-building, organization, and follow-through skills.
Self-motivation and comfort working toward measurable sales goals while managing multiple opportunities.
Interest in plants and horticulture. Nursery, greenhouse, garden center, landscaping, agriculture, or related experience is preferred, but not required for a strong sales candidate.
Ability to learn product details, availability, pricing, customer needs, and company sales processes quickly.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally for customer visits and periodically for trade shows or industry events.
A degree or coursework in horticulture, plant science, agriculture, business, marketing, or a related field is a plus, but not required.

Compensation Pay:

$22-$24 per hour, depending on experience. Working Environment

Regular local travel to customer and prospective-customer locations.
Periodic travel and schedule flexibility for trade shows, industry events, and seasonal sales opportunities.
Work may include time in greenhouse, nursery, retail, warehouse, and outdoor environments.

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during customer visits and events and safely handle or move plant material and sales displays when reasonably required

Pay:

$51,696.14 - $62,257.72 per year
