Job Description

Temporary Laboratory Technician

Westfield, NY Pay:

Starting at $16.00 per hour

Seasonal Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Temporary Laboratory Technician to support laboratory operations during the seasonal harvest period. The ideal candidate will be motivated to learn, self-directed, dependable, and comfortable following detailed procedures. Previous laboratory experience is helpful but not required. Training will be provided on the specific testing methods, equipment, and procedures required for the seasonal position.

Training Schedule:

September 9th

•September 18th 7:00 AM

•3:00

PM Seasonal Schedule:

Beginning September 21st: 7:00 PM

•7:00 AM 12-hour shifts with overtime included

Responsibilities:

Perform basic laboratory tests on products and samples as required during harvest. Conduct quality checks to ensure products meet established specifications. Collect and prepare samples for testing. Use laboratory equipment and testing instruments as trained. Accurately record laboratory test results and maintain required documentation. Enter test results and information into computer spreadsheets or other tracking systems. Report test results or quality concerns to the appropriate supervisor. Follow established laboratory procedures and safety requirements. Maintain a clean and organized laboratory work area. Follow applicable food safety and quality procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous laboratory or quality control experience is helpful but not required . Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Analytical mindset and ability to recognize issues or inconsistencies. Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions. Basic computer skills and ability to enter information accurately. Basic math skills. Self-directed and able to work independently. Willingness and motivation to learn new laboratory testing procedures. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Training Provided No prior laboratory experience is required. Employees will receive training on the specific laboratory testing procedures, equipment, and processes necessary to perform the seasonal role.

Work Environment:

Work is performed in a food manufacturing and laboratory environment. Fast-paced environment during the seasonal harvest period. Position may require standing and walking for extended periods. Must follow required safety, sanitation, food safety, and quality procedures. Pay & Schedule at a
