R&D Food Product Development Technician

Job Description

Preferred Education:
  • Minimum of High School degree
Preferred Education:
  • Some college preferred
Required Experience and Skills:
  • Proficiency in computer skills and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong communication skills, with emphasis on prompt and clear responses to high email and Teams message traffic
  • Can lift light weights up to 25 lb
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently to meet or exceed deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change
Schedule:
  • 30•40 hours a week, Mon•Fri, 7:30•4
Job Duties:
  • Assist with the Gold Standard Reference program
  • Coordinate bi-weekly with internal partners (Reference R D, warehouse, manufacturing sites, 3rd party storage) to ship out samples to plants or testing locations
  • Maintain and track reference inventory (products/pallets) from/to plants, R D, and 3rd party storage
  • Maintain and manage product inventories in the lab, shelf-life room, refrigerated, and frozen storage
  • Lead Gold Standard Reference qualification reviews
  • Manage and prepare qualification samples for internal sensory testing
  • Support Productivity Region team in product development work, including sensory tests, laboratory work, and process lab test runs
  • Perform standard core technician duties such as ingredient inventory, sample management, material ordering, sensory test preparation, and trial participation
  • Maintain and manage product and raw ingredient inventories in the lab, shelf-life room, refrigerated, and frozen storage
  • Manage sensory and consumer testing requests and prepare samples for execution
  • Coordinate and manage internal product reviews
  • Manage analytical submissions and communicate results in an organized and timely fashion.
  • Order raw materials for experiments and trials, managing specifications, certificates, and other crucial documents for all
  • Coordinate logistical activities for the team, including UPS shipments and pallet pickups
  • Maintain the quality lab and inventory and discard samples when expired with communication to project owners of expiration date
  • Other tasks as required
