WHAT WE NEED
The objectives of the position are to support and enhance overall environmental conditions within our food processing facility located in Berlin, WI. The Food Plant Sanitation Technician is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing production and warehousing areas, floors, walls, and other facility areas to ensure a safe, clean, and sanitary environment. Reporting into the quality department, the position is recognized as a key role to the organization achieving internal and customer standards, while maintaining compliance to regulatory and third-party requirements.
JOB DUTIES
Clean and sanitize surface areas within the food processing and storage areas
Perform dry and wet sanitation procedures in accordance with established good manufacturing practices (GMPs)
Safely use approved equipment and cleaning chemicals
Perform proper chemical handling, labeling, and storage practices
Wear all provided personal protective equipment (PPE)
Inspect working areas and equipment exteriors to ensure sanitation standards are maintained
Escalate equipment issues, team safety and product safety concerns to management teams
Complete sanitation records timely and accurately
Follow all company policies, OSHA requirements, GMPs, and food safety procedures
Work cooperatively with production and quality team members at various levels of the organization
Job Requirements:
Previous food plant sanitation, industrial cleaning, quality, or manufacturing experience is preferred
Understanding of effective dry and wet sanitation procedures to prevent/minimize potential food safety hazards associated with cleaning activities or cross contamination
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, crouch, and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods of time
Ability to perform work around water and cleaning chemicals in ambient seasonal climate
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Strong work ethic with reliable attendance and transportation
Manage sanitation inventories to ensure continual supply Other Skills/Abilities
