Quality Technician - Food Industry

Job Description

Summary Support food quality and safety by performing product testing, inspections, sample collection, documentation, and process monitoring to ensure products meet company, regulatory, and customer quality standards. Primary Responsibilities Perform quality inspections and standardized testing on raw, in-process, and finished products to verify compliance with quality standards. Conduct product evaluations for appearance, size, color, flavor, and other quality characteristics. Verify proper operation of metal detection equipment and report any equipment issues. Collect retention, microbiological, environmental, and quality control samples for testing. Prepare laboratory samples, complete required documentation, and coordinate sample shipments. Review and approve product labels before production begins. Place products on quality hold when necessary and assist with investigations and corrective actions. Complete quality records, reports, and daily documentation accurately. Monitor compliance with food safety programs, GMPs, sanitation requirements, SQF standards, and company policies. Analyze quality data, identify trends, and support process improvements to enhance product quality. Participate in cross-functional teams to resolve quality concerns and improve manufacturing processes. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while performing additional quality-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Two years of college with 1-2 years of quality or manufacturing experience preferred, or a high school diploma with 3-5 years of related experience. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to read and interpret production documents, specifications, safety procedures, and quality standards. Strong problem-solving, time management, and multitasking abilities. Basic math skills including fractions, decimals, ratios, and percentages. Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and a commitment to food safety and quality standards.
Pay:
$23.00 - $25.00 per hour
