You review incoming service orders, pull manufacturer repair manuals, and power up your diagnostic tools. By mid‑morning you're tracing a fuel issue on a 3‑cylinder gas engine, then moving on to a truck‑mounted carpet cleaning unit that needs both troubleshooting and a parts quote. After lunch, you call a customer to explain your estimate, update the appointment in our scheduling software, and team up with another tech to coordinate the shop workload. You wrap up by documenting recommendations for additional service and tidying a clean, safe bay. What you'll repair and maintain Systems and components across commercial cleaning, restoration, and surface‑prep equipment 2‑, 3‑, and 4‑cylinder gas engines; basic automotive systems Truck‑mounted carpet cleaning units and portable carpet extractors Hard‑surface floor cleaning machines Duct cleaning and deodorizing equipment Dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, air movers, and HEPA vacuums How you'll do it Accurately diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently using testing equipment, troubleshooting guides, and manufacturer repair manuals Evaluate and clearly communicate additional service needs discovered in the shop Meet or exceed department quality and productivity goals Follow supervisor direction; collaborate smoothly with service and store teams; assist fellow technicians as needed Use and maintain shop tools properly; keep work areas clean, organized, and safe Create service orders and maintain appointments in scheduling software Work directly with customers in person, by phone, and via email Prepare bids and present repair/service estimates Coordinate shop workload with other technicians and store employees Order parts and coordinate with vendors to keep jobs moving Compensation Hourly pay: $21 per hour + monthly bonus. What you bring 2+ years preferred in one or more: commercial cleaning/restoration equipment, small engine maintenance/repair, pressure washer service, or vehicle repair/maintenance Valid driver license and a clean driving record (no DUIs or Careless/Reckless driving on MVR within the last 3 years) High school diploma or equivalent Own a basic set of mechanic's tools Strong technical aptitude, mechanical skill, and attention to detail Efficient, accurate diagnostics and problem‑solving Safety‑first mindset: consistent use of safety glasses, hearing protection, and required PPE Ability to deliver quality work on time and lift 50+ lbs regularly Professional appearance, solid written and verbal communication, and basic computer skills Occasional overtime Bilingual English/Spanish a bonus
