Job Description

C.N.C. O.D.

Grinder Sturdy Grinding and Machining is an ISO certified company located in New Haven, MI. We provide industry leading centerless and O.D. grinding services to customers in various industries. Currently, Sturdy Grinding and Machining is recruiting an experienced programmer/grinder to head up a small O.D. grinding department. Experience with Mitsubishi grinders and/or Fanuc control systems would be a plus. Must be able to set up and program machines with little or no help. Experience quoting would be helpful, but not a requirement.

Job Specific Skills:

Set up, program and operate a

C.N.C. O.D.

grinding machines with minimal supervision. Handle multiple diameter to tolerances to .0002", maintain radii as needed, grind lengths, surface finish. Applicant must be capable of standing for long periods of time and lifting up to 60 lbs. Utilize the necessary inspection equipment including micrometers, profilometers, and dial indicators. Have adequate reading and writing skills to read job sheets and communicate process information. Package finished parts. Ability to work in a highly productive, constantly changing work environment. Suitable candidates must have dependable transportation. Experience in centerless grinding a huge plus. 3 years experience required, 5 years preferred.
