Floating Holiday Scope of Work:
The Racker is responsible for racking the material on the racks in a manner that correctly allows for proper electrical contact. The Racker must work efficiently to clear the loading/Unloading stations to ensure the anodizing line has limited downtime. Primary Responsibilities Carry material to racks after being located When racks are loaded, double-check contact points for proper contact Certain shapes will require special racking techniques and/or specialty racks Splines must be cleaned using an air surface grinder Headers are tightened with a header wrench Before carrying material to the rack, the material is double-checked for any surface defects Retrieve clamps when needed from the unload area. Remove any broken clamps or debris from the loading/unloading area floor Organization of the splines and dummy racks Unclamp and stack anodized metal on flats Inspect metal for defects Wipe down with a damp rag and blow out with low-pressure, high-volume air if needed Problem Solving Examples A load does not look like it was wiped down, which will impact the finish. You bring the material back to be cleaned properly. You notice that the material about to be racked has serious die lines that will only get worse with finishing. You notify QC so the material can be tagged for the hold list. You notice that an extrusion is not hanging secruly so you notify your Supervisor. To be successful in this position you should have a basic knowledge of machinery, good eye for color discrepancies, organization skills, be able to minimize downtime through proper load timing in and out of the system. As a Hoist Operator in the Anodize Department you will required to use PPE which must be worn at all times (including hearing protection, safety glasses, and safety shoes).
