Land Survey/Instrument Operator

Job Description

Overview Join our team as an Instrument operator. You will work alongside the crew chief in the field to collect the necessary data while using varying techniques and equipment. CAD experience is preferred but not required. Overtime usually available but never required. Duties Operate surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS/GNSS systems in the field. Perform boundary surveys and staking of residential and commercial lots. Utilize CAD software for drafting and research. Support survey planning by interpreting schematics, maps, and technical drawings while ensuring adherence to project specifications. Maintain and calibrate surveying equipment regularly; operate field tools such as hand tools for setup and adjustments. Assist with heavy lifting of equipment or materials when necessary to ensure smooth field operations. Skills Strong understanding of trigonometry, geometry, algebra, and math principles essential for accurate measurements and calculations. Proficiency in land surveying techniques including total station surveying, GPS surveying. Experience with CAD software Perfered Knowledge of schematics interpretation, legal land descriptions. Ability to operate advanced surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS Data collection expertise with an emphasis on accuracy in field surveying environments; experience with data analysis skills for producing reliable survey reports. Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent communication abilities for coordinating with project teams and clients. Physical capability for heavy lifting during fieldwork; comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions; attention to detail is crucial for precise measurements.
Pay:
$45,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
