This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery and cutting-edge fabrication techniques, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. As a Sheet Metal Grinder, you will be instrumental in transforming raw sheet metal into finished parts ready for assembly and further processing, contributing to our commitment to excellence in manufacturing. Duties Operate and set up various grinding machines, including surface grinders and precision finishing tools, to achieve specified tolerances and surface finishes on sheet metal parts Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and machining instructions to accurately perform grinding tasks Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensions and ensure quality standards are met during and after grinding processes Maintain safety standards by adhering to all safety protocols, including proper machine operation and personal protective equipment usage Conduct routine inspections of finished parts for precision measurement and quality control, making adjustments as necessary for optimal results Collaborate with team members on fabrication tasks involving CNC laser cutting, CNC programming, plasma cutting, stamping presses, and other sheet metal forming machines Assist in machine setup, tooling adjustments, and calibration to optimize production efficiency while maintaining high-quality output Requirements Proven experience operating grinding machines or similar machining equipment within a manufacturing environment Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and mechanical blueprints accurately Familiarity with CNC machinery such as CNC laser cutters, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, plasma cutters, and CNC programming concepts Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles for precise measurement and quality assurance Ability to use measuring instruments and precision measurement tools effectively for quality control purposes Basic math skills including shop math necessary for machining calculations and measurements Understanding of safety standards in production environments with strict adherence to safety protocols during machine operation and fabrication processes Skilled in the use of hand tools, measuring instruments, forming machines, welding equipment, and other fabrication tools Mechanical aptitude combined with strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishing of sheet metal components Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining focus on safety and quality standards Join us as a Sheet Metal Grinder where your expertise will directly impact the production of top-tier metal components.
