JOB SUMMARY STMW

Manufacturing is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Detail Technician - Grinder to join our growing team. This position is responsible for grinding, deburring, detailing, and finishing precision machined metal components to meet customer specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate takes pride in craftsmanship, works well in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and has a strong attention to detail.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Grind and detail machined metal parts to customer and engineering specifications
• Perform grinding, deburring, sanding, blending, buffing, and surface finishing operations
• Inspect parts for cosmetic defects, sharp edges, scratches, and surface imperfections
• Use hand tools, pneumatic tools and grinders
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas following 6S standards
• Read and interpret work orders, drawings, and manufacturing instructions
• Communicate quality concerns or production issues to supervisors and Quality personnel
• Support production schedules and meet required deadlines
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures
• Assist with other production or finishing tasks as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous grinding, detailing, deburring, or manufacturing experience preferred
• Experience working with stainless steel, aluminum, and steel
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good attendance and reliability
• Basic understanding of manufacturing and shop safety practices

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Experience with cosmetic finishing standards
• Knowledge of grinding and detailing techniques
• Familiarity with quality inspection processes
• Ability to read blueprints or part drawings

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
• Frequent use of hands and repetitive motions
• Ability to work in a manufacturing/shop environment
