Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Saw/Drill Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating various cutting and drilling machinery to produce precise metal components according to technical specifications. Your expertise in machining processes, safety standards, and quality control will ensure efficient production and high-quality output. Duties Operate a variety of machinery including bandsaws, drill presses and hand tools to cut, shape, and drill metal parts. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to set up machines and produce components that meet strict specifications. Prepare and set up machining tools, tooling, fixtures, and measurement instruments such as calipers and precision measuring devices for each job. Conduct quality inspections using measurement instruments to ensure parts meet dimensional tolerances and quality standards. Follow safety protocols diligently during machine operation, material handling, and fabrication processes to maintain a safe work environment. Perform routine maintenance on machinery and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime. Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects involving sheet metal forming, assembly, and metal finishing techniques. Skills Proficiency in operating Metal working machines and hand tools. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Experience with shop math, basic math calculations, and measurement techniques essential for precision machining and quality control. Knowledge of safety standards in manufacturing environments and adherence to safety protocols during all operations. Ability to set up machining tools efficiently while ensuring proper tooling alignment for optimal performance. Familiarity with fabrication processes such as forming machines, welding, sheet metal fabrication, and assembly techniques. Skilled in using hand tools and measuring instruments like calipers for quality inspection purposes. Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles for precise part manufacturing. Mechanical aptitude combined with strong attention to detail ensures high-quality production output.
