Shift:
Monday - Friday, 2:45 PM - 11:15 PM (8 hours plus a 30-minute lunch) Starting $28.00 per hour or more, depending on experience About Newton Heat Treating Newton Heat Treating is an aerospace heat treating company located in the City of Industry, California, specializing in aluminum heat treating. We are Nadcap accredited and AS9100 certified, and our work supports leading aerospace manufacturers. Accuracy at order entry is where quality starts - this role is at the front of that process. About the Role We are looking for a skilled Order Entry / Contract Review Technician for our second shift, reporting to the Quality Manager. You will review incoming customer purchase orders and translate customer and specification requirements into accurate work orders in our ERP system (Bluestreak). This is an individual contributor role. For the right person, there is a clear path to a lead position over time, based on demonstrated technical judgment and leadership ability. What You'll Do Review incoming customer contracts (purchase orders) for correctness, completeness, and producibility at Newton Heat Treating. Generate work orders in Bluestreak (order management / ERP system) per customer contract and specification requirements. Review and generate planning documents compliant with both customer and industry standards. Interpret aerospace heat treating specifications such as
AMS 2770, BAC 5602, DPS
7.00-1, and related customer and prime specifications. Ensure contract review documentation complies with Nadcap and other aerospace requirements, and perform duties per relevant internal procedures. Raise specification interpretation questions and contract discrepancies to the Quality Manager, and coordinate resolution with production and customers. Maintain order entry accuracy and turnaround time; surface opportunities for process improvement. Support Nadcap, AS9100, and customer audits related to contract review. What You'll Need 2+ years of experience in the heat treating industry - aluminum heat treating strongly preferred. Working knowledge of aerospace heat treating specifications (for example, AMS 2770, BAC 5602, DPS 7.00-1). Demonstrated computer proficiency and experience using ERP or order management systems to create work orders; Bluestreak experience is a strong plus. High attention to detail - errors at contract review carry through the entire process. Strong time management - able to prioritize a variable workload against production schedules. Ability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence in English. Basic math skills, including adding and subtracting time. Practical problem-solving; able to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Nice to Have Direct experience with Nadcap or AS9100 audits. Familiarity with aerospace prime requirements (for example, Boeing, Lockheed, and their suppliers). Experience with pyrometry-related requirements (AMS 2750) as they affect order processing. Interest in growing into a lead role. Pay and Benefits $28.00 starting or more per hour, depending on experience.
