We are looking for someone who has a strong interest and basic knowledge of gold, diamonds, jewelry, watches, and other precious metals , with the ability to learn how to accurately evaluate items and negotiate purchases while providing excellent customer service. We are willing to teach and train the right candidate. However, you must already have some knowledge or experience with jewelry, gold, precious metals, diamonds, or luxury goods. You do not need to know everything coming into the position, but you should have a solid foundation and a willingness to learn and develop your skills. Responsibilities Evaluate and purchase gold, silver, platinum, diamonds, and fine jewelry Test and identify precious metals and gemstones Determine the value of jewelry, watches, and other valuables based on current market conditions Negotiate purchase prices while maintaining profitable margins Assist customers with selling and/or pawning their valuables Identify designer and luxury jewelry brands and understand their resale value Inspect jewelry for authenticity, condition, craftsmanship, and hallmarks Weigh, test, photograph, and accurately document purchased items Maintain organized records of purchases and transactions Provide friendly, professional, and knowledgeable customer service Assist with merchandising and maintaining the appearance of the store Stay current on gold prices, jewelry trends, and resale values Qualifications Previous experience buying jewelry, gold, or precious metals preferred Basic knowledge of gold karats, precious metals, diamonds, gemstones, and jewelry Experience with jewelry appraisal, pawn, retail jewelry, or buying is a plus Excellent communication and negotiation skills Strong attention to detail Ability to accurately perform calculations and evaluate merchandise Comfortable working with cash and high-value merchandise Honest, dependable, and professional Ability to work independently and as part of a team Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment Must already have some knowledge of jewelry, gold, precious metals, or luxury goods Training & Growth We can teach you the buying process and help you develop your skills , including testing precious metals, evaluating jewelry, understanding market values, identifying brands, and determining profitable purchase prices. We are looking for someone who already has a basic understanding of jewelry and precious metals but wants to continue learning and become highly knowledgeable in the industry. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who is knowledgeable about jewelry and precious metals, confident when working with customers, comfortable negotiating, and eager to learn . You should be able to recognize value and have an eye for quality, while also understanding that there is always more to learn in the jewelry and pawn industry. Schedule Availability to work during regular store hours, including Saturdays & Sundays, is required. Compensation Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications.
