This role requires expert handling of various polishing tools and a deep understanding of luxury watch materials such as stainless steel, gold, platinum, titanium, and ceramic. The polisher works closely with watchmakers and quality control teams to ensure that watches meet brand standards before being returned to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Polishing & Refinishing:
Perform case and bracelet polishing using lapping machines, rotary polishers, hand tools, and other equipment. Restore original factory finishes (e.g., satin/brushed, high-polish) while minimizing material loss. Refinish surfaces according to brand specifications and finish types.
Pre- and Post-Polishing Preparation:
Disassemble watch components when necessary (case, bracelet, bezel, clasp). Clean parts before and after polishing to ensure a flawless finish.
Quality Control:
Inspect watches before and after polishing to ensure all surfaces meet high-quality standards. Identify and report any deep scratches, dents, or damages that may require additional repair.
Tool and Equipment Maintenance:
Maintain polishing equipment and workstations in clean and operational condition. Monitor and replace polishing consumables (wheels, pastes, abrasives) as needed.
Collaboration & Documentation:
Work closely with watchmakers, case technicians, and customer service teams. Accurately document services performed for each watch.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience polishing luxury watches or jewelry (e.g., Rolex, Omega, Cartier, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet). Strong understanding of different case and bracelet materials. Knowledge of factory polishing standards and finishes. Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail. Ability to work with precision tools and polishing machinery. Knowledge of basic watch construction is a plus.
