You will play a key role in maximizing plant uptime by designing, repairing, and modifying critical mechanical components. Responsibilities Utilize manual lathes, mills, and drill presses to fabricate and restore high-precision machine parts. Execute complex metal fabrication projects, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding, to support infrastructure needs. Diagnose and resolve mechanical failures in production systems to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency. Engineer and construct custom tooling, safety guards, and specialized components tailored to unique production requirements. Perform layout work, pipe fitting, and torch cutting to maintain and upgrade facility systems. Execute preventive maintenance schedules and maintain accurate technical documentation to ensure long-term equipment reliability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and implement effective solutions for complex mechanical challenges. Qualifications Required Skills Extensive experience in manual machining, metal fabrication, and diverse welding techniques. Proven ability to interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical schematics. Strong mechanical aptitude with a demonstrated history of effective problem-solving in industrial environments. Proficiency with standard shop equipment including grinders, band saws, and precision hand tools. Completion of a technical degree or equivalent professional experience in a machining or maintenance trade. Preferred Skills Working knowledge of electrical systems and industrial control components. Experience implementing and managing preventive maintenance programs. Ability to mentor team members on technical processes and safety standards.
